| This scene has actually been used twice. It was included in the 1979 Cannes version, and also in "Io Caligula" (Version #8 of the film) in 1985. This Italian dub was released on DVD in 2003. A similiar version of this scene was written in the script as well. In the final edit of the film you will see Caligula lean over and whisper in Longinus' ear, and Longinus laughs. Caligula told Longinus to have Proculus thrown in with the Killing Machine. Proculus wins the battle, and Caligula is resigned to give Proculus the 'Crown of Victory". |
